The Effects of the Physical Educational Activity Management by Using Korat Folk Games to Develop Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Students’ Creative Thinking

Abstract

          The research aims to 1) develop physical educational activity management by using Korat folk games to develop Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University students' creative thinking 2) study the results of the physical education activity management by using Korat folk games and 3) compare the results of the physical education activity management by using Korat folk games. The games were applied to a sample group of 60 physical education students which were divided into 30 students of the experimental group and 30 students of the control group. The sample group was chosen by the purposive selection, and the samples voluntarily participated in the design 16- week physical educational activity program (16 times of the experiment). The research instruments consisted of 1) the physical education program and 2) creative thinking tests. The experiment was conducted and the data were then collected before, during, and after the experiment including following up. Results of the tests were statistically analyzed by using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA), and Turkey’s a. method.

The research findings were as follows:

  1. The physical educational activity management by using Korat folk games to develop Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University students' creative thinking was acceptable at 1.00 of the IOC Index. The physical educational activity management by using Korat folk games affecting the students’ creative thinking on the side Originality, Fluency, Flexibility, and Elaboration.
  2. Mean scores of the experimental group were found significantly different at the .05 level among before, during, after, and following-up periods of experiment. The creative thinking of the samples after the implementation of the physical education activity management by using the Korat folk games program was higher than before the experiment.
  3. After applying the physical education activity management by using the Korat folk games program, the mean scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group at the .05 level. The physical educational activity management by using the Korat folk games program could consequently increase the students' creative thinking efficiency.
