DEVELOPING INTERNAL SUPERVISION GUIDELINES IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS UNDER THE MAHASARAKHAM PROVINCIAL EDUCATION OFFICE

Abstract

This research aims to; 1) study current conditions, desirable conditions, and the needs of internal supervision in private school under the Mahasarakham Provincial Education Office and 2) develop internal supervision in private school guidelines under the Mahasarakham Provincial Education Office. The research method was divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 was to study current conditions, desirable conditions, and the needs of internal supervision in private school under the Mahasarakham Provincial Education Office. The samples were 262 administrators and teachers in private school under the Mahasarakham Provincial Education Office using multi-stage sampling technique and research instrument was scaling questionnaire. Phase 2 was to develop internal supervision in private school guidelines under the Mahasarakham Provincial Education Office. The targets were 6 qualified school administrators and teachers in private school from 2 schools with good practices. Through purposive sampling technique and research instrument were semi-structure interview and an assessment of appropriateness of the internal supervision guidelines. Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and modified priority index.

           The results showed that;

  1. The overall of current condition of internal supervision was at a moderate level. The desirable condition of internal supervision in the overall was at the highest level.

2) There were 4 steps to develop internal supervision guidelines in private schools under the Mahasarakham provincial education office as follows; 1) to study current conditions, problems and needs 2) to plan and determine options 3) internal supervision practices and 4) evaluation of internal supervision. The assessment results of appropriateness of developing internal supervision guidelines was at the highest level.
