INTEGRATION ANALYSIS IN PRODUCT DESIGN, LACQUER ART CULTURE OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

The objectives of this research were: (1) to collect data on ceramic art to understand its characteristics, and production techniques, and to analyze modern handcrafted products while exploring product design patterns; and (2) to analyze the integration of ceramic art with modern cultural products to develop innovative solutions for the design of cultural products. This research methodology was qualitative research conducted through literature review and comparative analysis to explore key factors, obstacles, and management in the innovation process of ceramic art products. In-depth interviews were conducted with six experts: two ceramic art scholars, one cultural inheritor, one ceramic company executive, one artist, and one art collector. These interviews provided insights and opinions for design and commercial development.
The research findings were found that: (1) Ceramic art has continuously evolved in form and aesthetics, blending historical and cultural beauty with delicate and minimalistic shapes. Ceramic art products emphasize cultural preservation and heritage. However, the development and promotion of traditional production lines often conflict with changing consumer behavior. The design of traditional handicrafts requires artistic unity and practical usability; and (2) Cultural products are not just ordinary commodities; they embody creative design that integrates modern technology, culture, history, and narratives to meet the demands of contemporary consumers. These products have a unique social significance as they combine traditional elements with modern design concepts. This approach helps to design and manufacture cultural products that revitalize traditional craftsmanship and improve competitiveness.
