A Study of Usage of Newspaper, IQNewsClip and NewsCenter Services of Undergraduate Students, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to study the usage of newspaper, iQNewsClip and NewsCenter services for undergraduate students Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. The sample group used was 388bachelor degree students, Ban omdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. The tool used for data collection was a set of questionnaires with the reliability of .797.   The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation (S.D.)

Results of the study revealed that most respondents had used newspapers  IQNewsClip  and NewsCenter in the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology (OARIT) (85.80%) with the condition of using newspapers, iQNewsClip,  and NewsCenter as follows:The type of service that students used the first was iQNewsClip service at a high level, followed by NewsCenter services at a high level, and newspapers at a moderate level, respectively ; The purpose of using services of students was to make a report first, to do research, and to follow the news, which was at the high level in every item respectively ; The sourcesthat students were informed about services, the first was from the website of the OARIT, followed by information on public relations signs on elevators, and from librarians or staff that organize training on information searching at the OARIT,which was at the high level in every item respectively ; The search tools for student services the first was by using the computers at the IT room on the 8^th  floor of the OARIT, followed by searching service providing by librarians or staff, and using the computer at the Common room on the 1^st  floor of the OARIT, which was at a high level in every item respectively ; The searching methods of the students the first was to try on their own, followed by reading the search manual and followingthe instruction, and learning how to search from the instructor, which was at the high level in every item respectively ; The searching results that students received the first were text files and bibliography, followed by clipping and bibliography, which is at the high level in every item respectively ; The search satisfaction of students in overall was at a high level. By considering each item, it was found that the satisfaction with the ability to narrow the search as wide or narrow as needed was the highest level, followed by the fast search, and the search results including bibliography entries for easy reference, which was at the high level in every item respectively.
