Business Ethics of Tourism in Koh Samui District Suratthani Province

Abstract
This research study aims at investigating problems and causes leading to business ethical problems towards tourism business’s customers at Koh Samui District in Suratthani Province. The research instruments were questionnaires responded to by 350 entrepreneurs and 400 Thai and foreign tourists. Data obtained from the questionnaires were statistically analyzed through percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, One-Way ANOVA and Multiple comparison test, using Scheffe's method.The research findings showed that the entire business ethical problems and problems of tourism business at Koh Samui District in Suratthani Province were at high level. Moreover, all stakeholders were faced with these problems at high level. The main causes of ethical problems in the tourism business for customers were pressure on profit, legality and company’s competition policy. The comparison among business ethical problems based on general information of business showed that perspective, business type, staff number, and operated time were significantly different at the 0.05 significance level.Ethical behaviors towards customers of tourism business at Koh Samui District in Suratthani Province was at high level. Comparison of ethical behaviors to customers in tourism business at Koh Samui District in Suratthani Province based on general information of tourists showed that entire image, age and frequency of travelling to Samui I sland were significantly different at the 0.05 level of significance.
