This study aimed to 1) examine the quality of life among elderly individuals in Samphao Lom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and 2) explore their needs and propose guidelines for improving their quality of life. A quantitative research design was employed, with 115 elderly participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using mean and standard deviation statistics.
The findings revealed that: 1) The overall quality of life among the elderly was at a high level ( = 4.03, S.D. = 0.08). When categorized, all aspects scored highly, ranked in descending order as follows: living conditions (
= 4.09, S.D. = 0.73), health (
= 4.04, S.D. = 0.74), interpersonal relationships (
= 4.01, S.D. = 0.74), and participation in social group activities (
= 3.99, S.D. = 0.90). 2) The primary needs of the elderly in the Samphao Lom Subdistrict include knowledge about health care. Many elderly individuals lack financial resources and remain dependent on their children for support. The findings suggest that family members should play an active role in providing appropriate care and support for the elderly. This approach aligns with daily living activities that promote self-reliance.
