Abstract

This study aimed to 1) examine the attitudes of employees in an aluminum industrial factory towards safety, safety culture, safety awareness, and safety behaviors, and 2) investigate the influence of safety attitudes and safety awareness on safety behaviors at work among employees in a particular aluminum industrial factory. Data were collected using questionnaires administered to a sample group of 500 office staff, factory workers, and delivery store personnel aged 18 years and above in the aluminum industrial factory. Data analysis involved percentages, means, standard deviations, and hypothesis testing using Structural Equation Modeling with Smart PLS 4.0. The study findings revealed that 1) safety attitudes had a mean score of 4.33, safety awareness had a mean score of 4.45, safety culture perception had a mean score of 4.30, safety behavior had a mean score of 4.27, and organizational psychology had a mean score of 4.31, all influencing safety behaviors at work. 2) Safety attitude variables positively influenced safety culture perception factors, safety awareness variables influenced safety culture perception factors, safety culture perception variables influenced safety behaviors at work, and safety awareness variables positively influenced safety behaviors at work, all with significant implications at the .05 level. Conversely, safety attitude variables had no significant positive influence on safety behaviors at work.
