Abstract

This research aims to find ways to develop Doi-Whan coffee products, Doi Saket District,                Thep Sadet Subdistrict, for commercial and public benefits under the ASEAN economic community (AEC). The results from the data analysis found that farmer groups who plant Doi Whan coffee have the potential to develop roasting coffee products in the form of a portable bag or a coffee drip bag. The data analysis brought the researchers the ways to develop the products as following processes; (1) Purchasing roasting coffee has already done the processes according to the required formula as requested from farmer groups. (2) Roasting coffee seeds were brought for a quality check by a coffee specialist. (3) Sending coffee seeds that have already been roasted and tasted to a private factory to mash and put into a bag as well as fill nitrogen into the bag to help maintain its quality. (4) Granting the registration from The Food and Drug Administration (No.4) (5) Transporting the by-products into the inventory to be ready for selling. When all the processes were done, the 8-gram size of a portable instant coffee in total 7,000 bags have the cost at 22.1896 baht per 1 bag and the total cost for all of the procedures is 5,350 baht. The minimum investment amount of the 8-gram size of a portable instant coffee is 7,000 bags which the total cost for the investment was 160,677.2 baht, the value added tax (VAT) has already been added.
