The Guideline for Integrated Community Waste Management by People’s Participation of Moo 12 of Khlong Ha Sub-District, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province
Abstract
This research focuses on integrated garbage management guidelines by the participation of the community at Moo 12 Khlong Ha, Khlong Luang, Pathumthani. The following objectives are 1) to study the situation and waste management community of Khlong Ha in the past and at present 2) to study the quantity and types of garbage in the community 3) to study behavioral change, waste management of community Khlong Ha 4) to study the model of integrated garbage management 5) to study the revenue side of the waste management community at Khlong Ha. This research is a participatory action research from discussion groups. In-depth interviews are conducted with 12 key informants.
Results from the study showed that the use of learning activities is an important tool in creating awareness and understanding which can be developed by the community as the operator of a waste management manually by the start of the separation of garbage in the household. Each community will proceed in the matter of selection, storage, collection, distribution, administration, the garbage. Both the issues and solutions to problems are involving garbage management by community who understand the conditions and needs of the community, and community participation in control. The prevented problems of pollution from garbage in the community affect a community approach in the community's waste management effectively and make the community livable and make the environment better. The expenses are decreased by adjusting the pattern in consumption which causes garbage reduction. There is a learning community and the community quality and alignment increase. The community action can handle more self-reliant by having strong and more capable leaders which is an important factor in the process that can strengthen the community and create the learning process. Some new knowledge will arise from experience to work together to solve other problems.
