Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine an approach to increase the amount of export by air freight in Thailand. In this research, data was collected from various sources including International Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2018 and the logistics reports of Thailand of the years 2005-2017. The researcher’s approach to increase the amount of export by air freight was using Logistics Performance Index (LPI) which had 6-component criteria as follows: 1) customs should be improved to reduce the steps in processing import–export; 2) infrastructure must provide facilities to link networks and to support multimodal transport; 3) international shipments must be available; 4) logistics quality and competence of both governmental and private sectors; 5) timeliness of executives, and 6) tracking and tracing system. The results from this study will be the important guidelines to increase the volume of air exports in Thailand and increase the efficiency of the Thai Logistics Competency Index to a higher level.
