A PROFICIENCY LEVEL OF TELEMEDICINE PRACTICE AND INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF STUDENTS IN THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Objectives of the research article were: 1.To study of a proficiency level of telemedicine practice and interpersonal communication skills of students of the Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University, and 2.To study of the relationship of telemedicine practice and interpersonal communication skills of medical students of Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University. The informants consisted of 6th year medical students of the Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University. The research instruments were rating-scaled questionnaire about Proficiency level, telemedicine practice and interpersonal communication skills of students of Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s product moment correlation co-efficient with a statistical significance at the level 0.01.

The research findings were as follows: 1. A proficiency level of telemedicine practice of students of the Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University was at high level, considered for each factors, mean of remote monitoring telemedicine or self-monitoring/testing was at the highest store-and- forward telemedicine or asynchronous was the second highest and real-time telemedicine Interactive or synchronous was at the lowest and interpersonal communication skills of students of the Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University was at high level consider for each factors, mean of positiveness was at the highest equality was the second highest openness supportiveness and empathy was at the lowest in sequent. 2) The relationship between telemedicine practice and interpersonal communication skills of students of the Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University had positive correlation at 0.01 with a statistical significance. The relationship of telemedicine practice and factors of interpersonal communication skills, supportiveness was at the highest, openness was the second highest, positiveness, empathy and equality was at the lowest, in sequent.
