Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research article were to: 1) study the competency components of private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era; 2) examine the current conditions and development needs of private school administrators' competencies in the Education 5.0 era; and 3) develop and evaluate strategies for developing the competencies of private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era. This study employed a mixed-methods research design. Phase 1 involved studying concepts and theories regarding the competencies of private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era and analyzing components through data collected from in-depth interviews with 9 experts. Phase 2 was quantitative research, where the sample group consisted of 127 administrators from extra-large private schools in the central region. The research instruments included an interview form, a questionnaire, and a strategy evaluation form. The strategies were evaluated through focus group discussions with experts. Data were analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and the modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified)
The research findings revealed that: 1) The competency components of private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era consisted of 10 aspects: (1) vision, (2) communication, (3) innovation and creativity, (4) adaptability and flexibility, (5) team building, (6) honesty and integrity, (7) transformational leadership, (8) developing high-potential talent for the future, (9) digital literacy, and (10) networking and collaboration. 2) The results of the study on current conditions and development needs indicated that the competencies with the highest priority needs were digital literacy and networking and collaboration (PNI modified = 0.48), followed by developing high-potential talent for the future (PNI modified = 0.35) and transformational leadership (PNImodified = 0.32), while team building had the lowest priority need (PNImodified = 0.13). These results reflect the critical necessity for strategic competency development among private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era. 3) The competency development strategies for private school administrators in the Education 5.0 era comprised 4 main strategies and 16 sub-strategies: Strategy 1 refers to Elevating Digital Leadership and Data-Driven Administration; Strategy 2 refers to Building Innovative Organizations and Education 5.0 Model Schools; Strategy 3 refers to Developing Human Capital and Future Leaders; and Strategy 4 refers to Risk Management and Enhancing Competitive Sustainability. The evaluation demonstrated that the strategies were of propriety, feasibility, consistency with the context, and worthwhile.
