Scenario of Characteristics of High School Mathematics Teachers under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the Next Decade (A.D. 2022-2031)

Abstract
This research article aimed to examine the characteristics of secondary school mathematics teachers under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the next decade (2022–2031). The study employed a Delphi and ethnographic research methodology conducted over three rounds. The key informants were 21 experts. The research instruments included: 1) an interview form on the scenario of the characteristics of secondary school mathematics teachers covering 8 aspects, with an index of consistency of 1.00, and 2) a questionnaire on the same topic consisting of 55 items. Data were analyzed using the median, interquartile range, and content analysis.
The findings revealed that the scenario of the characteristics of secondary school mathematics teachers under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in the next decade (2022–2031) consist of 7 domains with a total of 55 characteristics: 1) academic leadership (8 characteristics), 2) knowledge and expertise in the subject taught (10 characteristics), 3) being a lifelong learner (7 characteristics), 4) language use and knowledge transfer (7 characteristics), 5) innovation and technology (9 characteristics), 6) research for learner development (8 characteristics), and 7) morality, ethics, and role modeling (6 characteristics).
