Participation and Awareness of Citizens in the Conservation of Natural Resources and the Environment: A Case Study of Mangrove Forests in the Area of Na Kluea Subdistrict, Mueang Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research article were to study factors affecting mangrove conservation in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Mueang Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. This research employed quantitative research, the sample group consisted of 390 residents of Na Kluea Subdistrict, with sample size determined using Yamane's formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression analysis.
The research findings revealed that 1) mangrove conservation depends on community capacity, comprising knowledge and understanding, intra-community coordination, and coordination with external agencies; 2) mangrove conservation depends on awareness, comprising desire to solve problems and participation in activities; 3) mangrove conservation depends on public participation, comprising benefit-sharing and participation in evaluation; 4) mangrove conservation depends on government support, comprising knowledge and management methods, and budget; 5) mangrove conservation depends on management, comprising administration by non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and private sector organizations; 6) overall, mangrove conservation depends on community capacity, awareness, public participation, and government support.
