Buddhist Integration for Enhancing the Leadership of Local Politicians in the Administration of Serm Klang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Serm Ngam District, Lampang Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research article were: 1) to examine the level of leadership among local politicians in the administration of Serm Klang Subdistrict Administrative Organization; 2) to compare the leadership of local politicians in the administration of Serm Klang Subdistrict Administrative Organization; and 3) to propose a Buddhist-integrated approach to enhance the leadership of local politicians in the administration of Serm Klang Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The study employed a mixed-methods design. Quantitative data were collected using a questionnaire with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.925, administered to a sample of 365 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as t-tests and F-tests with pairwise comparisons to examine differences between groups. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with ten key informants, and the findings were analyzed using content analysis in accordance with the research objectives.
The research findings revealed that 1) The overall level of leadership among local politicians in the administration of Serm Klang Subdistrict Administrative Organization was high ( = 3.76); 2) A comparison of leadership levels indicated that citizens with different genders, ages, educational levels, occupations, and incomes held significantly different opinions regarding the leadership of local politicians at the 0.05 level of statistical significance; and 3) The Buddhist-integrated approach for enhancing the leadership of local politicians demonstrated that dhammaññutā (knowing the law) promotes rational planning and decision-making, atthaññutā (knowing the purpose) requires clear goals aligned with the needs of the people, attaññutā (knowing oneself) involves understanding one’s roles and responsibilities, mattaññutā (knowing how to be temperate) emphasizes transparency and prioritizing public interest, kālaññutā (knowing the proper time) supports planning and implementation appropriate to community contexts, parisaññutā (knowing the assembly) enables understanding of community problems and proper prioritization, and puggalaññutā (knowing the individual) contributes to personnel development and capacity building.
