Academic Administration Innovation Based on the Concept of Innovation Management in the Digital Era of Primary Schools under the Samut Songkhram Primary Educational Service Area Office
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to achieve four primary objectives: (1) to investigate the components of academic administration innovation by applying the principles of innovation management within educational institutions in the digital era; (2) to identify the reasons behind the necessity for academic administration innovation; (3) to design an academic administration innovation framework grounded in these principles; and (4) to evaluate the feasibility of implementing the developed innovation in the context of the digital age. A mixed-methods research design was employed, involving 540 participants selected through stratified random sampling. The sample consisted of educational administrators and teaching personnel active during the 2023–2024 academic year. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and a quality assessment tool specifically developed to evaluate academic administration innovation. Both instruments demonstrated strong content validity, with index values ranging from 0.60 to 1.00, and high reliability, with coefficients of 0.990 and 0.993, respectively. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and confirmatory factor analysis, while qualitative data were examined through descriptive analysis.
The results revealed that: (1) academic administration innovation comprises eight key components—four related to academic management and four to innovation management; (2) the overall need for innovation in academic administration yielded a score of 0.693 for internal factors, and 0.752 for internal factors specifically related to innovation management; (3) the confirmatory factor analysis of the proposed innovation model produced a Chi-square value of 4265.095 with 2320 degrees of freedom, a p-value of 0.057, and an RMSEA of 0.038, indicating a good model fit; and (4) the innovation was deemed of feasibility and propriety based on the assessment outcomes.
