Main Article Content
Abstract
The study had the following objectives: 1) to synthesize a body of knowledge on community wisdom ecosystems in Uthai Thani province; 2) to manage scientific knowledge based on Buddhist wisdom ecosystems in Uthai Thani province; and 3) to present a database and knowledge from Buddhist wisdom ecosystems to the creative community. The study employed a combination of documentary research, qualitative research, and action research methods. Qualitative data were collected through focus group discussions with 18 participants and in-depth interviews with 12 participants. The action research included a seminar for knowledge exchange, learning activities, and raising awareness within the community about wisdom management of herbs in each area. The purpose was to summarize key points, model, and methods for finding guidelines to promote awareness. The wisdom management activity on herbs was conducted once with 61 participants. The results of the activity were analyzed both descriptively and explanatorily.
From the study, the results were found as follows: 1) The synthesis of a body of knowledge on community wisdom ecosystems in Uthai Thani province played a crucial role in developing and transferring Buddhist wisdom to preserve and restore natural resources. This process combined scientific knowledge with local wisdom. The majority of locals are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicrafts, which form the foundation of the community's economy. 2) The management of scientific knowledge based on Buddhist wisdom ecosystems in Uthai Thani province demonstrates that herbs are vital resources for the community, both physically and economically. Knowledge about herbs has been passed down through generations via conservation efforts and teaching. Some communities record herbal knowledge to preserve and develop it further. Additionally, the integration of scientific knowledge has enhanced the efficiency of sustainable herb use. 3) The presentation of the database and knowledge from Buddhist wisdom ecosystems to the creative community fosters understanding and promotes efficient usage. This process was carried out through the use of technology and the management of learning activities, both of which are essential tools for disseminating creative knowledge. These tools help communities understand and apply the knowledge effectively. Additionally, the development of collaborative networks and local curricula that integrate both wisdom and education strengthen the communities and supports sustainable development.
