This research aims to: 1. Study the history, value, production, and value-added creation of traditional Lanna toys. 2. Develop creative traditional Lanna toys. 3. Promote market mechanisms for creative traditional Lanna toys. The study employs action research and qualitative research methods, collecting data from relevant documents, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and semi-structured interviews with community groups, government sectors, and local scholars. The focus group discussions involve experts who provide insights into the cultural and historical significance of traditional toys, their craftsmanship, and innovative development. The collected data is analyzed through content analysis.

The research findings indicate that: 1. Traditional Lanna toys serve as recreational activities that reflect community culture and beliefs. They hold value in developing physical and cognitive skills while fostering creativity and imagination, particularly through toys made from locally sourced natural materials. 2. The development of traditional toys in three provinces that; “Kon Lueay Mai” in Chiang Rai, “Who” in Chiang Mai, and “Ma Mai Phai” in Lamphun—presents opportunities for innovation, economic enhancement, and market expansion. These toys are designed to meet consumer demands while preserving local identity and branding. 3. Strengthening the market mechanisms for traditional Lanna toys requires advancements in production technology, improved product standards, and digital marketing strategies to attract tourists and generate community income. Ultimately, traditional Lanna toys are not only a cultural heritage but also an economic opportunity with the potential for international expansion.
