Peace Innovation to Promote “The Inner Development Goals” through “Inner Corner” Platform
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research article aimed to: 1) examine the context, problems, and key needs for promoting the "Inner Development Goals" through the "Inner Corner" platform, and 2) create and introduce peace innovations to promote the "Inner Development Goals" through the "Inner Corner" platform. A mixed-methods research approach was employed, utilizing tools such as in-depth interviews with 34 participants categorized into five groups: 1) 20 users of the "Inner Corner" platform, 2) 4 specialists in facilitating inner development learning, 3) 3 experts on Inner Development Goals, 4) 3 digital platform experts, and 5) 4 experts on Buddhadhamma and Buddhist peace practices. The study also included focus group discussions with five experts to validate research tools and workshop content. A training workshop was conducted with 16 participants, and its impact was assessed using pre- and post-workshop questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using t-tests, while qualitative data were examined using inductive analysis based on the data from the focus groups.
The research revealed two key findings: 1) Users of the “Inner Corner” platform demonstrated a limited understanding and lacked consistent engagement with the "Inner Development Goals"; and 2) The proposed peace innovation to promote “The Inner Development Goals” through the “Inner Corner” platform includes two main components (1) The I-Peace Metaphor, which is a conceptual framework using analogy to help users grasp the essence of inner development and (2) The ITTI Learning Guideline, which is an experiential learning process designed to foster personal growth, structured into four phases, namely Initiate, Touch the Presence, Tune the Mind, and Integrate. The “Tune the Mind” phase includes a question set based on four prompts: Screen, Stop, Start, and Stay.
