Design and Development of a New Housing Estate Model for a Sustainable and Happy Society

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to investigate problems and the operation of a prototype housing estate in Ayutthaya province; 2) to design and develop a housing estate for a sustainable and happy society; and 3) to present a new housing estate model for a sustainable and happy society. The study employed a qualitative research method incorporating action research. The key informants included the chairpersons of housing estates, housing estate project committees, and residents, totaling 25 participants. Data collection tools consisted of in-depth interviews and an action kit. The study focused on the design and development of a new housing estate model for a sustainable and happy society. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis.
From the study, the following results were found: 1) A prototype housing estate in Ayutthaya province faces several issues that require improvement. These include the design of houses, which are not suitable for practical use, inconvenient transportation access due to the location, and an environment needing better care, such as improved waste management and cleanliness. Additionally, the project's services need enhancement to better meet the community's requirements. In terms of safety and community recreation, there are concerns such as the need for increased safety measures and a lack of sufficient recreational spaces. Furthermore, there is a need to plan environmental improvements to ensure more efficient utilization of resources. 2) In designing and developing a housing estate for a sustainable society, careful planning of various activities is essential. These include spatial planning and the design of common areas suitable for community use, as well as organizing cultural and recreational activities to foster enjoyment and inspire creativity. Additionally, technology can be utilized to enhance the efficiency of area management and development, such as integrating IoT and internet systems to connect villages with government officials. 3) The innovation model of this project aims to create a sustainable society through effective resource management and sustainable development. This includes the use of renewable energy and new technologies to reduce environmental impact, as well as fostering community cooperation to address problems and promote self-development for improving both personal and professional life in the future.
