Abstract

This research article aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1) to examine the context and key needs for developing a new breed of salaryman, 2) to analyze modern theoretical concepts and Buddhist peaceful means that support the innovation of a growth mindset for developing a new breed of salaryman, and 3) to create and propose an innovative growth mindset for developing a new breed of salaryman. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with an experimental design. Data collection combined both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative data were gathered through an experiment involving a sample of 20 salaried employees from a private organization. A questionnaire measuring mindset power and work behavior was administered before and after the experiment. Qualitative data were collected through observations and reflections. Analysis and evaluation were conducted using inductive qualitative methods and quantitative analysis, comparing the means before and after the experiment using t-test statistics. The results were summarized narratively.

The study found the following results: 1) In the context of the current economic downturn and the volatile global situation, salaried employees experience job insecurity, which leads to stress and a lack of work commitment. Identified challenges include difficulties in adapting to changes, communication issues within organizations, lack of work-life balance, and poor financial discipline. To address these issues, the necessary developments for new-generation salaried employees include shifting their mindset, promoting continuous learning, enhancing positive communication skills, achieving work-life balance, improving financial discipline, and fostering a collaborative work environment. These developments aim to ensure employees' well-being and their ability to effectively adapt to changing circumstances. 2) Modern theoretical concepts include the study of growth mindset, positive communication, and adult learning. When integrated with Buddhist peaceful means, such as Right View (Sammā-Diṭṭhi), these concepts support the development of a constructive mindset. 3) The creation of an innovative growth mindset development program for new-generation employees is facilitated through a practical training course. The experimental results showed that the post-training average scores were significantly higher than the pre-training scores, with a statistical significance level of .05.
