Research and Development on Enhancing Personnel in Animation through the Integration of Industry and Education
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the current situation and the needs of personnel to enhance animation personnel; 2) develop an animation personnel training course; 3) experiment with the training course for animation personnel; and 4) evaluate the use of the animation training course by integrating industry and education. The research process consisted of four phases: the first phase was to study the current status and the need for 368 samples. The sample group was composed of 60 animation business managers, 59 lecturers, 189 undergraduate animation students who are studying in the fourth year of school in 2022, 60 graduates in animation, totaling 368, and 10 animation educational specialists; the second phase was the development of a personnel training course by interviewing 10 animation management experts; the third phase was the experimental training of 1 lecturer and 30 students; and the fourth phase was the evaluation of the use of personnel training by 7 experts and 60 students. The research instruments were questionnaires, interviews, a test assessment form and a satisfaction form. Statistical analysis involved frequency, percentage, standard deviation and content analysis.
The findings indicated that: 1. The need to promote animation personnel through the integration of production and education can be ranked based on the PNI values of which the top three were that theoretical-based courses should be more prevalent than practical-based ones, personnel should possess knowledge and understanding of teaching management in animation, and animation course subjects should be applicable during internships. 2. The development of the training course included four modules: animated character design, animation language design, 3D animation design, and post-film animation synthesis. The assessment results were evaluated by experts for accuracy, suitability, and consistency, with the overall evaluation scores being at a high level. 3. The experimental results of the training course were equivalent to 86.21/85.81; the post-training average scores were higher than pre-training scores and statistically significant at the .01 level. 4. The overall performance of the training course was at a very high level, while student satisfaction with the training overall was at the highest level. ( = 4.60, S.D. = 0.98)
