A Learning Innovation Management Model to Improve the Student Quality in Basic Educational Institutions in Remote Highland Areas

Abstract

The research article aimed at developing a learning innovation management model to improve student quality in educational institutions in remote highland areas. The study was divided into three steps: 1) Investigating components and guidelines for learning innovation management to improve student quality in educational institutions in remote highland areas. This step involved studying related documents and research, exploring three schools with best practices, and conducting interviews with five experts. The tools used included an information recording form and an interview form; 2) Creating and examining the propriety of a model. The data source included ten experts, and the tools used were a form for checking the propriety of the model; and 3) Evaluating the feasibility and utility of a model. The key informants involved 60 school administrators and 60 heads of academic affairs department. The tools used were forms evaluating the feasibility and utility of a model. The obtained data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.


From the study, the following results were found: A learning innovation management model to improve student quality in educational institutions in remote highland areas consists of six components: 1) principles; 2) objectives; 3) inputs, which include 3.1) administrators,   3.2) teachers, 3.3) an organizational culture conducive to the development of learning management innovation, and 3.4) learning resources, media, and technology; 4) the process of developing the learning management innovation, which includes 4.1) analyzing problems, 4.2) designing and creating innovation, 4.3) experimenting with innovation, 4.4) evaluating the use of innovation, and 4.5) reflecting and propagating; 5) student quality; and 6) success factors. This developed management model has been evaluated as having the highest level of propriety and feasibility.
