Abstract

Disabilities are becoming more common than we realize and affect everyone, from young to old age. People with disabilities have started to travel more, which has led to the development of "tourism for all". This is a tourism trend that the world is watching to ensure that people of all genders, ages, and physical conditions can access tourist attractions, public services, and various tourism activities in a convenient, safe, and barrier-free manner, regardless of physical condition, age, or gender. The aim of this research article was to examine the guidelines of appropriate management for disabled tourists. In order to provide disabled tourists with access to tourism tailored to their needs, it is important to identify the services and facilities they require; therefore, a literature review would help to develop guidelines of appropriate management for disabled tourists. Government sectors related to tourism, such as the Department of Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Interior, Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, should work together to plan and develop the necessary infrastructure. This includes implementing a concrete proactive policy to educate those involved in the characteristics and needs of people with disabilities, as well as supporting an appropriate budget to encourage entrepreneurs to continue developing travel for people with disabilities. All of this is intended to support and provide services to disabled tourists, reduce social inequality, promote equality, stimulate the economy, and project a positive image of the country.
