The Development of the Activity Package Using Project-Based Learning Management Combined with a 5-STEP Learning Process to Promote the Problem-Solving Skills of Primary School Students under Nakhon Nayok Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to develop and explore the efficiency of the activity package using project-based learning management combined with a 5-STEP learning process to promote the problem-solving skills of primary school students under Nakhon Nayok Primary Educational Service Area Office; and 2) to explore the results of using the activity package. The study employed a quasi-experimental research method. The sample group consisted of 20 students in the 4th year primary school of Ban Wang Sai Community School (Wang Sai Witthayakhom). The research tools were 1) achievement test; 2) activity package; and 3) satisfaction survey. The statistics used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation.


From the study, the following results are found: 1) The activity package by using project-based learning management combined with a 5-STEP learning process consists of five steps and six components, which are 1.1) activity package title, 1.2) instructions for the use of activity package, 1.3) objectives of activity package, 1.4) materials used in organizing activities, 1.5) learning activities, and 1.6) progress test. The activity package developed by the research has an efficiency E1/E2 equal to 76.38/ 76.17; 2) The results of using the activity package reveal that 2.1) the comparison of the pre-test and post-test of students’ learning achievement after using the activity package shows that the post-test is higher than the pre-test with a score of 11.15, and 2.2) the result of the students' problem-solving skills after using the activity package show that students have problem-solving skills in all four activities, with a mean of 76.3%, which is at a high level; and 3) Student satisfaction with the activity package is overall at 4.31, which is at a high level.
