Main Article Content
Abstract
The research article aimed at the following objectives: 1) exploring the needs and guidelines to promote the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers; 2) analyzing the needs to promote the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers; and 3) investigating the guidelines to develop the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers. The study was divided into three phases: 1) exploring the needs to promote the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers; 2) analyzing the needs to promote the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers; and 3) investigating the guidelines to develop the teacher’s spirit among new generations of teachers. The research tools included a survey on the need to promote teacher spirit among new generations of teachers, an assessment form for testing the item-objective congruence (IOC) between teacher spirit and professional standards, qualification standards, and national education standards, and a form for testing the correlation between guidelines for developing teacher spirit and the propriety of these guidelines.
From the study, the following results were found: 1) The need to promote teacher spirit among new generations of teachers is overall at a high level. When examining each aspect, it was found that the need for sacrifice in the work of teachers ranked highest, followed by the aspects of teacher responsibility, confidence in human potential, and equality of students. 2) Teacher spirit needs to be promoted among new generations of teachers, as specified in professional standards, qualification standards, and national education standards. 3) The guidelines for developing teacher spirit among new generations of teachers are based on contemplative education activities, with the aim of fostering teacher spirit. There are four learning management guidelines: building motivation, using positive psychology, engaging in contemplative education activities, and implementing practical methods.
