A Study on Creative and Productive Skills for Students in Private Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

The objectives of this article research were 1) to study the current conditions and desirable conditions of employers on creative and productive skills for students in Private Higher Education Institutions. 2) to assess current conditions and desirable conditions of employers on creative and productive skills for students in Private Higher Education Institutions. Mixed methods research was used. The sample group used in this research divided into 2 groups as follows 1) the sample group used in the semi-structures interview to be used as information for creating questionnaires to assess the current conditions and desirable conditions of employers on creative and productive skills for students in Private Higher Education Institutions were teachers and students studying at the 4th year of a bachelor’s degree in Private Higher Education Institutions, 5 persons each by purposive sampling. 2) the sample group used to assess current conditions and desirable conditions of employers on creative and productive skills are employers who employ students in Private Higher Education Institutions, amount 400 persons using simple random sampling. The research instruments were semi-structures interview form by describing the interview results from description content analysis and questionnaire to assess current conditions and desirable conditions of employers as 5 level rating scale. Every item included the answer for 2 conditions as: the current conditions, and desirable conditions of employers and data analysis using mean, standard deviation and modified priority needs index: PNI modified and descriptive content analysis. The findings of this research revealed that 1) current conditions on creative and productive skills for students in Private Higher Education Institutions were lower than desirable conditions of employers. They should be enhanced in creative and productive skills. 2) the assessment of current conditions and desirable conditions of employers on creative and productive skills for students in Private Higher Education Institutions were creative mind was the highest followed by productive mind, critical mind and responsible mind, respectively.
