The Assessment of Current State and Expectations for Strengthening the Characteristics of Innovation Leadership of Higher Education Students in the Three Southern Border Provinces

Abstract
This research consisted of three objectives, namely: (1) to study the current condition for innovative leadership characteristic of student in higher education institutions in three southern border provinces. (2) to study the expectation condition for innovative leadership characteristic of student in higher education institutions in three southern border provinces. (3) to study training needs of innovative leadership characteristic of student in higher education institutions in three southern border provinces. This study is a mixed research method. The samples of qualitative research was interviews conducted with administrators, instructors and employers viz 20 key informant, Collecting by Purposive Sampling. The quantitative research was survey to collect the data from 392 samples; first-to-fourth-year students of four higher education institutions in three southern border provinces. By purposive sampling, selected through the Table of Krejcie & Morgan, proportional stratified random sampling and purposive sampling. The instrument for collecting data was questionnaire. The statistics was analysed by determining mean, standard deviation, PNI (Modified) and content analysis. From the study, it was found as follows: (1) The current circumstance of innovative leadership characteristic of student in higher education institutions in three southern border provinces was found at a moderate level (= 3.19). (2) In the expectations of innovative leadership characteristic of student in higher education institutions in three southern border provinces was at a high level (
= 4.20). (3) The questioning was training needs a most level (PNI =0.45), observing (PNI =0.34), associating (PNI =0.30), networking (PNI = 0.29), experimenting (PNI = 0.23) respectively.
