The Development of a Management Model Towards Excellence in Dramatic Arts, Musical Arts, and Visual Arts of Bunditpatanasilpa Institute

Abstract

The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the current conditions and expectations on the management towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts of Bunditpatanasilpa institute; 2) to develop a management model towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts of Bunditpatanasilpa institute; and 3) to provide suggestions on the policy in applying a management model towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts of Bunditpatanasilpa institute. The study was mixed-methods research. The sample group included 365 persons by means of semi-structured interviews with 8 experts; 291 administrators, lecturers, and educational personnel to fill in an assessment form; 9 experts to assess a model and provide suggestions; 57 administrators, lecturers, and educational personnel to evaluate the suitability and feasibility of a management model towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation (S.D.), priority needs index (PNI), and t-test. The research results revealed as follows: 1. The aspect that needed the most development in management towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts of Bunditpatanasilpa institute was the priority given to the service recipients and stakeholders, followed by an emphasis on personnel. While the aspect of evaluation, analysis, and knowledge management and the aspect of the operation results received an equal need. Followed by the aspect of an emphasis on the operating system, the aspect of leadership and organizational leadership, and lastly, the aspect of strategic planning; 2. A management model towards excellence in dramatic arts, musical arts, and visual arts consisted of 7 components with 46 items were found to have overall suitability at a high level which was higher than the set criteria with statistical significance at the .01 level; and 3. The suggestions on the policy in applying a management model consisted of 1) Ministry level policy in a total of 7 items, 2) institutional level policy in a total of 7 items, and 3) faculty and college policy in a total of 7 items.
