Abstract
This article entitled “The Motivation and Work of Volunteerism the performance
of the special volunteers in The Royal Cremation Ceremony of His Majesty King Bhumibol
Adulyadej, Rama IX” has 2 objectives: (1) to study the motivation of the special volunteers
(2) to study the performance of the Special Volunteers according to Sangahavatthu 4. This
is a qualitative research that studied from the 50 special volunteers in The Royal
Cremation Ceremony of His Majesty King Rama IX by answering the questionnaire and indepth
interview through the focus group. The research findings were:-
1) The special volunteers gained the many rational volunteer motivations to The
Royal Cremation Ceremony of His Majesty King Rama IX; appreciation of the grace of His
Majesty King Rama IX, to want to do the goodness to give a royal charity to the King, to
unify each other, to join to be the service group to Thais and foreign people, to impress
and be proud to perform the honor job and to show the loyalty power to the institute of
King.
2) Everyone know how to give, donate and support another person which similar
as “Dana; generosity”. They know to make the relationship with the good voice, kindness
as “Piyavaca; kindly speech”; moreover, to help with beneficial support; Atthacariya. Last
but not least, they worked from the beginning till end that similar as Samanattata;
participation and behaving oneself properly in all circumstances.
