A Development Guidelines on Cultural Learning Activity toward the Preparation of the Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community

Abstract
The purposes of this research are threefold: 1) to study the history of cultural learning activities from Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok. 2) to study current conditions and problems of Thai cultural learning activities toward ASEAN 3) to develop cultural learning activity model toward ASEAN for Rajabhat Universities in Educational Service Area in Bangkok. Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, Dhonburi Rajabhat University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Chandrakasem Rajabhat University and Phranakhon Rajabhat University participated in this study. This study was conducted by qualitative research, documentary study, field study, interview, observation, focus group discussion, and workshop.
The finding of the study found that Rajabhat University was originated from teacher training schools and became the teacher college. ‘Rajabhat Institute’ in 1995. In 2004, King Rama IX named and ‘Rajabhat University’ and they became legal entity.
In current conditions and problems in Thai cultural learning activities toward ASEAN from Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok, the results of the study found that language and culture was taught in General Education subject while the other subjects less focused on teaching them. Students did some activities on festival days and other days which related to cultures and traditions, therefor they could learn through their exploration and learning in real experience, and finally the information was collected. Furthermore, lacking of the cooperation from other organizations, time and subject were not link to the project may cause the problems for the students to participate in these activities.
The three main learning activities for Thai culture toward ASEAN were curriculum, arts and culture, and field trip activities. The success factor is the process of Thai cultural learning activities toward ASEAN and the indicators of success
