The Humanized Care for Crisis Patients: Perception from Nursing Students’ Practicum

Abstract
The purpose of this qualitative research design was to examine the model of humanized care for crisis patients through the perceived experience by practicing on ward of nursing student. The key person who provided information was fifteen 3rd year nursing students practicing the nursing care of persons with health problems practicum course. Data were collected by using field note of participated observation during nursing students practicing in intensive care unit, pre-post conference, and focus group after finishing the practice. The focus group was conducted using the outline of question about the humanized care for crisis patients that was developed by the researcher. Data were analyzed by using content analysis. The theme was checked for accuracy by the key person student.
Research finding revealed the model of humanized care for crisis patients as follows: 1) caring to patient as family members and equality, 2) providing the holistic care to the patient, and 3) having mercifulness, kindness, caring, and virtue reflecting human being. The result after the nursing student used the humanized care model for the crisis patient was as follows: 1) happiness, 2) understanding life value and professional life, and 3) pride.
