Abstract

The validity of the causal relationship model showing the influence of family
relationships affecting an intellectual well-being of adolescents, it found that the influence
of family relationships affecting an intellectual well-being of adolescents was of the chisquared
of 37.38, degree of freedom (df) of 25, the probability (p) .053, Goodness of Fit
(GFI) 990, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI).970 and Root Mean Square Error of
Approximation (RMSEA) of .030, family relationships could have explained the variance of
mental factors at 68.00 %, family relationships and psychosocial factors could have
explained the variance of intellectual well-being at 29.00 %. Considering the direct effect
and indirect effect on intellectual well-being, it found that the direct effect from a family
relationship affected intellectual well-being with a statistically significant degree of 0.530 at
.01 level, but did not have indirect effect from mental factors. In addition, mental factors
had also directly affected by family relationships with a statistically significant degree of
effect of 0.83 at the .01 level.
