Effect of Program for the Development Reconciliation Behavior in Adults

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to develop the reconciliation behavior in adults. The experimental samples were 43 staffs of Rajabhat Suratthani University who worked as housekeepers and gardeners, the population were the samples. The experimental tool utilized was the curriculum for promoting the reconciliation behavior, it was aligned with psychological concepts: 1) personal behaviors, interpersonal behaviors 2) the activities to promote the conciliation behavior. The schedule of the intervention was 12 weeks, the 30 hours in 5 weeks were training activities and 7 weeks later they worked together as normal living. Data collection was performed by the questionnaire for the adult reconciliation behaviors, developed from Buddhist topic Saraniyatham 6. The conciliation behaviors were 1) body behavior 2) speech behavior 3) mind behavior 4) shared behavior 5) being unity 6) unselfish.  


The reconciliation behavior data were collected before and after intervention. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and paired t-test. The results showed that the sample were 28 male and 25 female, age average were 42.8, the education level were primary school.  After intervention the reconciliation behavior in the low group were decreased from 10 persons (23.25%) to 3 persons (6.98%). The high score were increased from 13 persons (30.28%) to 28 persons (65.11%), it can be changed the behaviors for living together with love, unity, sympathy to one another, readiness for forgiveness.  The mean score of reconciliation behavior after training was higher than before training with statistically significant at .05.
