The Role of the Buddhist Sangha on Development in Educational Welfare in Sangkha District, Surin Province

The objectives of this research : 1) To study the current condition of the welfare education of the Sangkha District. Surin Province 2) To study the role of the Sangha Administrator in educational welfare in Sangkha District. Surin Province 3) To present guidelines for promoting the role of the Sangha in the area of welfare education in Sangkha District. Surin Province. This research is qualitative research, which is analyzed data from the Tripitaka, Buddhist academic documents, and the relation researches. It is a field-based study and interviews with 35 target groups/ people, namely 1) a group of monks, 2) a group of local politicians, 3) a group of government officials, 4) a group of the general public, 5) a group of local philosophers, 6) a group of academics. Those data are used by descriptive analysis method.
The research’s result found that; Current condition of the welfare education of the Sangkha District Sangha Surin Province Buddhist Temple Charity School and the Sunday Buddhist Study Center is not in operation. Child development centers in temples, local administrative organizations take over all operations and provide funding support. Educational materials or equipment for students in various educational institutions It is continuously operated every year.
The role of the Sangha Administrator in the area of welfare education in Surin Province has 2 aspects : 1) Regarding child development centers in temples, the local government organization takes them all into operation. The Sangha therefore has a small role. 2) In terms of funding support. Educational materials or equipment for students in various educational institutions The Sangkha District Sangha has a continuous role in this area.
Guidelines for promoting the role of the Sangha Administrator in welfare education in Surin Province have 2 aspects : 1) Child development centers in temples. There are guidelines for promotion : (1) personnel and management, (2) buildings and facilities, (3) academics and activities according to the curriculum, (4) participation and support from the community. 2) Educational assistance in supporting scholarships Educational materials or equipment for students in various educational institutions The steps should be performed in the following order : (1) The temple's annual income should be clearly allocated for assistance. (2) A budget should be found for improving the school environment. (3) New equipment should be provided for use in education to make it up-to-date. (4) Educational guidance services should be provided to students through religious activities, etc., in order to develop students into good and capable people.
