Functional Competency of Executive Secretaries in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi

The objectives of this research are: 1) To study the level functional competency of executive secretaries. 2) To compare the difference between the functional competency of executive secretaries and personal factors and 3) To guide the development of functional competency of executive secretaries.It is a quantitative research, the samples were executive secretaries working at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi with the total number of 37 people and 5 key informants. Step 1, the tool used in the research was a questionnaire. The statistics used in the data analysis were means, percentage, standard deviation, and parametric statistics. Step 2, the tool used in the research was in-depth interview by choosing a specific group of Purposive Sampling who are 5 executives in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. Step 3, focus group with 12 keyinformants. Qualitative was analyzed by grouping and synthesized.
The study indicated that: 1) The level of functional competency of the executive secretaries were at the high level. As a whole, the study found out that the highest and separated by sides were the results of trait was the highest, followed by concern for order and the lowest score was the knowledge of secretarial work. 2) By comparing the results of the study, the researcher found out that executive secretaries’ gender, age, education level, work experience have different functional competency of executive secretaries had no significant difference. 3) The development of guidelines for the performance ability can be developed from a training and non-training model, self-study based on practical tasks and reading the rules, giving feedback from executives, assigning complex tasks to practice critical thinking.
