The Learning Burden about Chinese Proficiency Test (PAT 7.4) of Thai Learners

Abstract

Nowadays, the learning burden of learners has increased as the society has become more competitive, including the burden of learning management, burden of thought and financial burden.  The objective of this research is to study learners’ opinions in Thailand through the learning burden of Chinese Proficiency Test (PAT 7.4) and to set down guidelines for reducing the learning burden of learners to the test. This research collected data from 333 questionnaires during 2016-2018 from secondary  schools and Chinese language teaching and learning promotion center in all 5 regions throughout  Thailand. The results showed that 59.1% of the students perceive that the Chinese proficiency test (PAT 7.4) is a learning burden. Moreover, guidelines for reducing the burden of learners in Thailand consist of families, schools and partners in coordination to reduce the learning burden for learners in all dimensions.
