Music Composition: Phracho Taksin Maharaj

Abstract

This research is a creative work which aims to produce contemporary creative musical works and explanation by employing historical contents of King Taksin, the Great. The research methodology was divided into 2 phases, namely composition of melody and lyrics and musical arrangement

The findings revealed that 1) the melody and lyrics composition was defining accurate musical form, period, and phrase, scale, range. The melody’s movement was balanced, and the form and phrase were outstandingly divided as well as the development of motif and connection in each stanza, making the song complete and correct in accordance with the concepts and principles of the music theory. 2) The arrangement was performed with parallel motion, oblique motion, and contrary motion as well as open-position voicing arrangement in form of Drop2 and seventh chords according to the content and emotion of each section.
