Curriculum Development and Evaluation: An English Training Module for Promoting Sustainable Tourism for Local Tour Guides

Abstract
This study aims to develop and evaluate an English training module for promoting sustainable tourism for local tour guides in Tha Sa La subdistrict municipality, Chiang Mai province. Participants were 18 trainees. Research instruments included the evaluation form of the content validity of the curriculum, the pre- and post-tests of oral English proficiency, a simulation test of oral English proficiency at an actual worksite, a questionnaire of tourists’ satisfaction towards trainees’ use of English, and a questionnaire of trainees’ satisfaction with the training. The study revealed that four out of five pre-established criteria were achieved.
