Abstract

The Night under Sunshine (យប់មានថ្ងៃរះ), Khmer novel, is one of the interesting works by Pal Wannarirak (ប៉ាល់  វណ្ណារីរក្ស) which reflects the atmosphere of society and another Khmer value regarding the problems of prostitute, AIDs and women’s rights in the Khmer society. The research was conducted through studying and translating the original novel in Khmer edition and inspecting elements as well as composition methods with a view to analyzing the novel’s composition style of which the author is   a female novelist well-known for her distinguished works in Cambodia’s literary society.

                It was found out that, with the analysis of the Night under Sunshine’s composition methods, there are 7 outstanding and important methods; titling method, narrating method, story-driving method, characterization method, setting creation method, dialogue creation method and language use method, all of which denote specific attributes of the author and prove her efficiency as well as style with emphasis on producing works to instill appropriate values and morality among readers following the expectation of the Khmer society while trying to determine the direction for the Khmer society simultaneously.
