Integrated Learning Skills With Communities to Strengthen Social Capital of Students in The Field of Community and Social Development

Abstract

This article aims to 1) study the integrated learning skills with the community to strengthen social capital, 2) context of social capital in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, and 3) guidelines for enhancing integrated learning skills with the community to strengthen social capital of Community and Social Development students, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were employed. The quantitative research population was purposively selected, with a questionnaire reliability of .90. The target group for the qualitative research was purposively selected, totaling 23 students. The results of this study revealed that 1) the integrated learning skills with the community to strengthen social capital of Community and Social Development students, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, were at a high level overall and in every aspect. 2) In terms of social capital, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality has developed social capital in the form of self-reliant communities. 3) The results of the study indicated guidelines for enhancing integrated learning skills with the community to strengthen social capital of Community and Social Development students. Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University found that it should have a policy for organizing education through participatory processes between students and the public or community. Instructors should enhance integrated learning skills with the community to improve the quality of life of people in the community. Students should be empowered to use their learning skills in creating groups or networks that can connect with diverse communities. Students should also be empowered to use their learning skills in relationships with agencies and community networks.
