Role Development Policy of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs)

Abstract
The objectives of this research aimed to: 1) study the role of the VHVs in community health management at present: 2) study problems and obstacles in the implementation of the role of the VHVs in community health management: and 3) study role development policy of village health volunteers (VHVs) in Nonthaburi province. This research was a qualitative research by in-depth interviews. Key informant consisted of 18 people; groups from within the community and groups of stakeholders outside the community, then bring a systematic description and conclusions based on the theory of data organization.
The results indicate that: 1) the role of VHVs in community health management at present is due to the fact that people in some areas are not aware of the role of the VHVs as they should because of changing social conditions: 2) problems and obstacles in the implementation of the role of the VHVs in community health management result from the economic growth and the expanding community so immigrants come to work, resulting in various health problems that require basic care, the VHVs and their affiliate networks must be prepared to deal with such problems: and 3) the role development policy of village health volunteers (VHVs) requires accurate, clear, and easy-to-understand knowledge in order to be able to apply and communicate to the situation and context of the area appropriately for sustainable community health management in accordance with the role development policy of village health volunteers (VHVs), which is conducive to the health of the people.
