The Priority Needs to Spiritual Intelligence Development of Teachers in Thai Christian School

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the needs assessment of Thai Christian school teacher development based on the concept of spiritual intelligence. This study was conducted with descriptive method by using the spiritual intelligence conceptual framework. The population was Thai Christian school by using purposive sampling and there were 49 informants, including school administrators, kindergarten teachers, primary teachers, and secondary teachers. The research instruments were the needs assessment of Thai Christian school teacher development based on the concept of spiritual intelligence questionnaires. The data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and (PNIModified).


The results were found that the needs assessment of Thai Christian school teacher development based on the concept of spiritual intelligence overall was 0.313 (PNIModified = 0.313). When analyzed in item, the results were found that personal meaning production was the highest priority need (PNIModified = 0.522). The second highest priority need was transcendental awareness (PNIModified = 0.393) The third highest priority need was conscious state expansion (PNIModified
= 0.390). The lowest highest priority need was critical existential thinking (PNIModified = 0.054).


For this reason, the finding will be the information for the approaches of Thai Christian school teacher development based on the concept of spiritual intelligence.
