Abstract

This editorial article presents a research synthesis and critical reflection on the scholarly contributions featured in this issue of the Journal of International Buddhist Studies College (JIBSC). The collected works reflect an expanding interdisciplinary engagement with Buddhist approaches to peace, emotional well-being, and social harmony. Across these studies, the integration of mindfulness, wisdom, and loving-kindness emerges as a unifying conceptual foundation underpinning diverse applications, including conflict transformation, contemplative practice, and relational development.


Situated within classical Buddhist frameworks, particularly the Noble Eightfold Path and the Brahmavihāra, an integrative analytical model that connects individual transformation with collective well-being. In doing so, it highlights the continuing relevance of Buddhist peaceful means as both a theoretical lens and a practical methodology for addressing contemporary social challenges.


The synthesis further identifies emerging research trajectories, emphasizing the need for conceptually grounded and methodologically rigorous approaches that bridge doctrinal insight with empirical investigation. By foregrounding the interplay between inner cultivation and social engagement, this article contributes to ongoing efforts to reposition Buddhist studies as a field that is both academically robust and socially responsive.


Overall, this editorial positions JIBSC as a critical platform for fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and advancing Buddhist-informed responses to the complex ethical and psychological demands of the modern world.
