A Study of Kanji Learning in Japanese of Matthayomsuksa 5 Students Using Cooperative Learning Management TGT Techniques with Digital Flashcards
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to: (1) investigate the learning outcomes of Kanji characters among Matthayomsuksa 5 students through cooperative learning using the Teams-Games-Tournament (TGT) technique combined with digital flashcards by comparing post-learning achievement with a 70% criterion, and (2) examine students’ satisfaction with cooperative learning using the TGT technique combined with digital flashcards. The sample group consisted of 21 students from Matthayomsuksa 5/15 at Buriram Pittayakom School in the first semester of the 2025 academic year. The experiment was conducted over 6 weeks, totaling 12 instructional hours. The findings revealed that the students’ mean post-learning achievement scores were higher than the 70% criterion, indicating that the instructional approach improved students’ Kanji learning outcomes. In terms of satisfaction, students reported the highest level of satisfaction with cooperative learning using the TGT technique combined with digital flashcards (𝑥̄ = 4.51, SD = 0.59), particularly regarding enjoyment, comprehension, and motivation to learn Japanese. The findings suggest that cooperative learning using the TGT technique combined with digital flashcards is effective in enhancing Kanji learning outcomes and promoting student satisfaction.
