Abstract

This research aimed to examine the factors influencing investment behavior in Thailand Sustainable Environment, Social, and Governance (Thai ESG) Mutual Funds among Generation Y investors in Bangkok. The study employed a quantitative research approach using multi-stage sampling, with a total sample of 400 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson’s Correlation Analysis, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings indicated that most Generation Y investors in Bangkok had a high level of knowledge, investment motivation, and information awareness regarding Thai ESG mutual funds, while their investment behavior and risk tolerance were at a moderate level. The hypothesis testing revealed that (1) personal factors, including year of birth, marital status, educational level, and average monthly income, resulted in statistically significant differences in overall investment behavior at the 0.05 level; and (2) investment motivation and information awareness significantly influenced investment behavior in Thai ESG mutual funds at the 0.05 level. The regression model was statistically significant (F = 34.825, p < 0.001) and was able to explain 25.3% of the variance in investment behavior (Adjusted R² = 0.253).
