Guidelines for Designing Long-Stay Accommodations to Accommodate Scandinavian Elderly People: A Case Study of Rayong Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the living behavior and needs of the elderly in Scandinavia; 2) to develop guidelines for Long Stay design guide suitable for the elderly living in Scandinavia, and make a qualitative study on it. Through the case study of the living behavior and needs of the elderly in Scandinavia, the regional scope of the elderly living in Scandinavia were determined, and the in-depth interview method based on specific samples was adopted , using purposes sampling with the total number of 10 people.

           The research results show that the elderly in Scandinavia must be able to reach all points of the residential area, such as quiet residential areas, chaotic residential areas, residences near the sea and hospitals, and all areas must be able to use them so that everyone can benefit from them., They only needeg accommodation on one floor, because long-standing health problems are not convenient to climb multi-storey stairs, so it is not necessary to use large residential areas.
