Abstract

          The objectives of this research are 1) to assess the potential of Phuket's smart city and 2) to develop a holistic smart city tourism development approach for Phuket. It is qualitative research. Data were collected by in-depth interviews with key informants, namely 5 government officials, 18 tourism entrepreneurs, and 3 academics.

          The results showed that : The potential of Phuket's smart city is 1) the value of tourist attractions. modern and a blend of cultures 2) the convenience of tourist attractions on land, water, air and land transportation and many internal transportation channels 3) Facilities Fully supports tourists and security 4) physical environment of tourist attractions that have and can meet the needs of tourists, and 5) limitations in terms of space, limitations in services Utilities, tourist safety issues As for the holistic smart city tourism development approach of Phuket, the PIBIDI Model is an investment that generates income on infrastructure, building good quality people to create big data and using digital technology that is sufficient for the development of holistic smart city tourism.
