Motivating Factors Affecting Job Selection in the Hotel Business of Generation Z in Bangkok

Abstract

     The objectives of this research are 1) to study the level of internal and external factors affecting decision-making; 2) to study the composition of factors affecting decision-making and finally, 3) to analyze the needs of choosing to work in the hotel business of Generation Z in Bangkok.

     The results showed that from the extraction of factors affecting the decision to work in the hotel business by using factor analysis, 6 factors can be classified, namely job esteem, job nature, and job attitude which is considered an internal factor. For external factors including working atmosphere, career stability, as well as compensation and welfare, all 6 factors are considered important motivating factors. Then, the need for job selection was studied by Logistic Regression Analysis. The results showed that based on the above analysis, it is possible to predict Generation Z's demand for employment in the hotel business by up to 89 percent. Work attitude is the key factor that drives Generation Z in Bangkok to decide to work in the hotel business.
