Abstract

The aims of this qualitative research are 1) to study Thai massage courses that are currently taught. 2) to develop a model of Thai massage courses that is consistent with the UNESCO Declaration of Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Humanity. A research and development process model can be used to conduct research, and it has been adopted to be employed in the study in the following four steps: Step 1: Research the knowledge of Thai traditional medicine and massage courses currently being taught. Step 2: Create an interview form and a course structure. Step 3: Submit the interview form to 16 experts in Thai traditional medicine to get their input on the course structure. Step 4: Analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions from the interviews.

According to an interview, the study's findings are as follows: 1) To promote the Thai people's reputation and sense of pride, all interviewee consented to Thai massage being included as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Additionally, it enhances Thai understanding of the value of traditional knowledge conservation. 2) There are several different levels of instruction used when teaching current Thai massage courses. Based on labor market demands, there are both short-term and long-term training programs that can lead to professional practice, and there are still many folk massages that should be investigated and information gathered so that one does not become lost with that local healer. 3) It is a good idea to create a Thai massage curriculum that complies with the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List since it increases trust and credibility of the treatment and broadens the original knowledge for professional advancement both domestically and internationally. The framework of the Thai massage course has been modified based on the survey questionnaire to better suit and up-to-date for learners.
